JumpLights is excited to welcome M.B. Anand as Chief Product Engineer, joining the company’s executive team and taking a key role in the continued development of JumpLights’ growing product portfolio.
Anand brings decades of experience in engineering, product development, technical leadership, and entrepreneurship, with a career centered on taking complex physical products from concept through design, certification, manufacturing, and commercial deployment.
As Chief Product Engineer, Anand will oversee the full lifecycle of JumpLights products, including ETS MAX, Catalyst®, Vert, Lumia, and lighting control technologies. He will work closely with CEO John Peeler, COO Matteo del Ninno and the broader JumpLights team on new product development, performance, certification, quality, and continuous improvement.
A Career Built Around Bringing Technology to Market
Anand joins JumpLights with extensive experience building and commercializing hardware and technology systems.
Most recently, he served as Chief Product Architect and co-founder of Machfu, an industrial Internet of Things company where he was responsible for product conception, hardware design and development, certifications, manufacturing, and cybersecurity. During his time there, Anand helped bring five products to market across the utility, oil and gas, and factory automation industries.
His technical experience spans hardware and mechanical design, embedded systems, wireless communications, power systems, industrial IoT, manufacturing, regulatory compliance, and machine learning and AI for industrial applications.
Earlier in his career, Anand co-founded Eka Systems, where he served as Chief Technology Officer and led an engineering organization of more than 30 people. The company deployed its technology with utilities across the United States, Latin America, Europe, and Asia before being acquired by a Fortune 500 company.
Engineering Experience for JumpLights’ Next Stage
As JumpLights continues to expand its portfolio, Anand will help lead products from concept through deployment, including system-level design, prototyping, testing, certification, production readiness, vendor coordination, and ongoing product improvement.
His background includes extensive hands-on engineering as well as regulatory certification experience, including product certifications across more than 20 countries and hazardous-location safety certifications.
Anand also holds more than 20 patents in the United States, Japan, and Europe and has participated in approximately 25 publications, conference presentations, and speaking engagements. He holds a PhD in Engineering from Waseda University, an MS in Electrical Engineering from Syracuse University, and a BE in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Anna University.
Building What Comes Next
Anand joins JumpLights at an important point in the company’s growth. With multiple lighting platforms serving commercial cannabis and greenhouse growers, his role provides dedicated engineering ownership across the product lifecycle while strengthening the connection between product development, manufacturing, operations, and customer needs.

Anand will be based at JumpLights’ headquarters in Germantown, Maryland, working alongside the company’s engineering and executive teams as JumpLights continues developing the next generation of lighting technology for commercial growers.
